Formed in 1981 in Lawrence, Kansas, Common Ground toured throughout the 1980's & 1990's and amassed a dedicated following with strong, conscious original music and exciting live performances. Winners of the Kansas City Pitch's annual KLAMMIE Awards for BEST REGGAE/WORLD BEAT BAND in 1997, 1998, 2000 as well as the winner of the Midwest Reggae Awards from 1991 through 1996. This reunited and expanded lineup of the band highlights lead Vocalist Ras Neville (Brown), originally from Kingston, Jamaica and also includes well-known Jamaican guitarist, Tommy Mills.
The band is honored to have shared the stage with Reggae legends such as The Wailers, Culture, The I-Tals, The Wailers, Lucky Dube, Burning Spear, Mutabaruka, Yellowman, Steel Pulse and more...
